My personal style is rather traditional. My skin tone’s not the best for bright colors; and with a figure like mine, I can’t rock just anything, unfortunately. So walking around the Philadelphia Designers Market yesterday, though there were so many adorable and unique items, I felt a bit out of my element, and found myself gravitating toward the earthier tones and “safer” styles, if you will. UNTIL I found Leah Creation

We met Leah and her partner, Jonelle, where they were showcasing Leah Creation, a line of accessories unlike any we’ve ever seen. Immediately, we felt welcomed and appreciated by two obviously down-to-earth (and all around AWESOME) chicks. After introducing ourselves and chatting for a couple minutes about this and that (haha get it?), Jenn and I then realized what exactly it was we were looking at; no dangly silver earrings, chunky gold necklaces, or precious gemstones… we were looking at albums.

Yup! Vintage vinyl records carefully cut into a variety of small pieces, strategically hand pierced and magically transformed into wearable accessories. In getting a closer look at this incredible collection, my initial reaction was “Oh, $#!&!! That’s amazing!” as I browsed through names like Fleetwood Mac, Run DMC, Police, and Motley Crue; all adorning the sides of earrings, charms, tie/money clips and the fronts of belt buckles. Basically, the perfect final touches to becoming a complete ROCKSTAR. So needless to say, I had no choice but to toss aside my traditional ways and make this purchase.

Jenn and I both decided we wanted earrings, and it seriously took an embarrassingly long time to make a decision. Finally, we both went with our guts, and picked up the pairs our eyes keeps returning to. I chose a heart-shaped pair made out from Heart’s 1985 hit single, “What About Love” (the original vinyl record from the year I was born) and Jenn got a SICK pair of black, red and white ones made from a crazy old Aretha Franklin album. Definitely highlight purchase of the century!!

With your new accessories, you’ll get a care card telling you how to keep it as mint as the original record it was made from (as vinyl discolors from thermal heat). Trust me, this will be one piece of jewelry you’ll want to keep forever!

You really need to see this stuff for yourself. Go to Leahcreation.com, or shoot them an e-mail to leahcreation@gmail.com to find out where you can buy these one of a kind pieces and complete your rockstar look!! :)
