FashionWhat to Wear Where

Warmer weather is now upon us (thank God), and it’s time to pack away those itchy sweaters and oversized sweat pants you use for your excuse to have “fat days”, and finally start to show some skin! It’s not easy, however, to plan your outfits accordingly when we’re still in that toss up stage of it might be warm out and it might not be.  Sadly, this indecisiveness can have a devastating effect on the credibility of one’s fashion sense.

Going half and half is great… if you do it right. Personally, I’m a big fan of short shorts with a sweatshirt, BUT… that combo should be reserved for summer nights when it starts to get a little chilly (when you started the day in a tank top). A tank with capris and flipflops- totally acceptable late spring/early summer wear.  However, the trend of going halvsies is VERY hit or miss and wayyy too easy to miss.

Here are some examples of what you should never try and pull off during early Springtime, no matter how practical it seems…

1. Mini skirts with UGG boots. We’ve all seen these 15-21 year olds thinking they can rock this look. Sadly, they must’ve missed the memo on how NO-ONE can rock this look. I’ve seen pictures of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears dressing this way, and they look ridiculous- so stop trying to be them. A) You’re not famous, and B) you don’t have the excuse of having all the money in the world so you don’t give a shit what other people think.

2) Long-sleeved shirts, jeans, and flip-flops. I know you’re excited that summer is right around the corner, but to wear flip-flops with colder weather clothes just doesn’t look right. No one is ready to see your feet yet. But for the love of God, if you’re going to do this anyway- at least get yourself a pedicure.

3) Shorts. Period. It’s just not short weather yet, guys. Unless you’re working out, to wear shorts in the early springtime is just dumb. You’re gonna be cold, and chances are you are not yet as tan as you should be. You have like 3 months to prepare your legs for the best possible shorts-exposure. Use them.

4) Furry Boots. I know there are still colder days when you’re asking yourself, “Isn’t it supposed to be Spring?”, but that is not an excuse to wear your furry boots again. They’re done. Put ‘em away. And do not take them out until next year.

Some “half-and-half” items that you can feel free to mix and match:

- 3/4 Sleeves

- Sneakers

- Capri-pants

- Jeans with larger rips (regular jeans are obvi acceptable year-round)

- T-Shirts

- Leather boots

- Long skirts

- Flats

- Camis

… you get the idea! Just tryin’ to help  :)

Please send this out to every college campus. One thing I will not miss as a student is seeing those F-ing UGG boots. They’re called UGG’s because they’re UGLY! Duh!
It never ceases to amaze me how ridiculous fashion gets.
