What to wear-on a first date…

Hey everyone, I’m Christine and this is where you’ll come to find out the latest fashions and advice on tricky questions for fashion in important places!
First off- what to wear on a first date.
This can be tricky! You want to be sexy, you want to be fun, you want to look nice and neat, and oh, so many things, but it’s important to be yourself and dress like you- after all, the guy is dating you to see if he wants to know you better, wait scratch that. YOU’RE dating him to see if he is worthy of your time! And guys- remember to have fun too, be yourself and be a gentleman- manners are NOT overrated.
Clothing can depend too on where you are going, so dress with the occasion. Dinner? Bowling? Dave and Buster’s?
For dinner out, I usually opt for a skirt and a cute shirt, tights or hose, and a pair of hot shoes that you love and feel comfy in. I have a pair of boots that I feel like a rock star in (from Macy’s of course!)- Good to walk in and make my legs look good. On the other hand, if you feel good in stilettos, wear them! If we’re going more athletic, I’ll go for jeans and a cute top.
I love jewel tones with my blonde hair and peachy-pink skin tone, so I go for dark green, purple and garnets. And I’m a bit petite and curvy, so I want to find a style that flatters me. And for me, it means shorter skirts to make my legs look longer, and V-cut tops to show a hint of cleavage, a fairly good asset of mine. Find your best asset and maximize on that.
For men, you want to look neat and groomed. Rag & Bone (http://rag-bone.com/) also has stylish clothes for men and women. Blazers, collared shirts and a tie (depending on where you are going) also look sharp.
Some of my fave and sophisticated clothes come from ellelauri, PA designer- girls gone Manhattan, for stylish clothes in great fabrics. Pair the Valerie dress with the Jessica wrap and you have instant glamour (http://ellelauri.com/collections-2.html). I opt for looking good, and not showing off too much of your assets- keep yourself a mystery, girl!
Jewelry and accessories- keep these to a minimum- you don’t want so much swingy and dangly parts that your man hears you coming!
Bring a nice purse- I have a grey vintage clutch that I tarted up with old brooches and it looks fun and shows I have a creative side.
Also, wear your signature scent, but keep it light. You want to allure him, not knock him out! Same goes for guys. If I smell your cologne before I even shake your hand then it is too much!
Remember- the most important thing you’ll ever wear is your confidence, and great clothes help that along! And have fun!
