Found this great recipe on Grouprecipes.com. I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of Chai. It’s deliciously sweet, with a hint of spice! Perfect for tea, or as a coffee substitute. If you haven’t tried it, head down to your local coffee shop- most of them have some sort of hot Chai beverage. Should you like it as much as I do, this oatmeal recipe should have you drooling!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 1 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- *1/4 tsp cinnamon
- *1/4 tsp ground coriander
- *1/4 tsp ground cardamon
- *1/4 tsp ground tumeric (rumored to promote male enhancement!)
- drop of vanilla extract
- 2 tsp honey
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- (optional:) 2 tbsp plain yogurt or buttermilk
DIRECTIONS
1. Pour milk into saucepan. Add salt, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, and turmeric. Whisk to blend. Place pan over medium heat.
2. Just before milk comes to a boil, lower heat and let mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in vanilla and honey and whisk until honey dissolves.
4. Sprinkle in oats and stir once or twice. Cover pan and leave over low heat for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. When oatmeal has thickened to your liking, serve hot with yogurt or buttermilk.
ENJOY!!!
