Be not forgotten, old white people.

Every-time someone asks me what kind of music I listen to, I always say the same thing- “I listen to whatever makes me feel something.” That’s all it comes down to. Whether it be Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, Pop- whatevs. If it arouses my emotions- I fux with it. But something has to be acknowledged right now and that is when Hip-Hop artists remake/remix white people music. When they take the chorus, or the bridge or some shit from a classic rock song or 80′s ballad, and throw it in with a sick beat and their own verses. Seriously, if it’s an especially good one- there’s a chance I will feel it down there. There is just something about the homage that is given to these classic songs/artists that just makes me proud to be part of the Next Generation. Be not forgotten, old white people.

The joints I speak of are gems- heard sometimes far and few between. Here are some that are definitely worth the piracy. They are as follows:

“Forever Young” – Sting/Jay-Z

“Free Fallin’” – Tom Petty/Pimp C. (RIP)

“Wind Blow” – Fleetwood Mac/Bone Thugs N’ Harmony (an absolute MUST hear)

“(I Just) Died in your Arms” – Cutting Crew/Jay-Z

“Dream On” – Aerosmith/Eminem

“Cold As Ice” – Foreigner/Jay-Z

“These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” – Nancy Sinatra/Lil’ Kim (remake not remix)

“Gold Digger” –  ( from “I Got a Woman”) Ray Charles/Kayne West & Jamie Foxx

And then there are those mix-genre songs, in which hip-hop artists actually colaborate with other (mostly white) artists of rock, country, pop, etc. KoRn likes doin’ this shit, as they have put out songs like “Comin’ Undone Wit It” ft. Dem Franchise Boyz and “Play Me” ft. Nas. Worth a listen for some headbangin’ bootypoppin’ fun. Remember that time Nelly and Tim McGraw made “Over and Over”?? What?? I don’t know. I liked it.

If anybody knows of more of these songs, leave a comment please! I just can’t get enough interpolation.
