JUPITER SUNRISE: Like Weezer Meets Jesus

Like 10 years ago, my friend and I were walking around the mall just mindin’ our teeny-bopper biz, and all of a sudden this hot guy pops up outta no-where. He introduces himself, and hands us a free demo CD for his new band, Jupiter Sunrise. We were like “Um, cool, so this is probably gonna be good.” (<- sarcasm) LET ME TELL YOU…

That shit didn’t leave my disc-man for like 3 months, and has since been named “Under a Killer Blue Sky” . It’s like Weezer meets Jesus. The album went on to sell over 4000 copies in the first year. I would play this one song, “Cherry Wine” over and over like it was my job. But there are other tracks with some beautifully haunting melodies, such as “Heaven and Endless“- and even some to rock out to, like “Casey”.

Now, I’m proud to say that J.S. has made it to the top, but there’s still not enough people who know about them!! On their MySpace page, they categorize themselves as Indie/Soul/Americana. Perfect, right? They aren’t just any shitty band thinkin’ they’re famous ’cause they have a MySpace for it, either. (By the way- wayyyy too many of those. Thanks for wasting my time, guys.)

Take a listen, people. Jupiter Sunrise is the sh*t. For real.
